Landmark Historic District & Cane River Area
In 1954, The Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches began the Fall Pilgrimage to raise money for their preservation projects. APHN owns Melrose Plantation and the Lemee House.
The 60th Annual Fall Tour of Homes gives you the opportunity to explore the most beautiful historic homes in Natchitoches Parish. There are three different guided tour options to choose from:
Friday, October 10th, 7:00pm – 9:30pm – Visit the Blessed House, Scott Corner House, Pierson Townhouse & Garden and finish up with music, wine and cheese at the Prudhomme-Rouquier House.
Saturday, October 11th, 9:00am – 4:00pm – Visit the Lambre-Gwinn House, Steel Magnolia House, Fair Woods French Creole Cottage and the Sweet Cane Inn.
Cane River Country Tour
Saturday October 11th & Sunday October 12th, 9:00am – 4:00pm – Visit Melrose Plantation, Atahoe Plantation, Cherokee Plantation and Oakland Plantation.
Single Tour – $25.00 Per Person
Double Tour Package – $40.00 Per Person
Triple Tour Package – $50.00 Per Person (Best Value)
Children’s (Ages 6-12) Tickets – $5.00 Per Tour/Child

APHN also owned the Kate Chopin House located in Cloutierville, LA that tragically burned to the ground in September 2008. The Tour includes plantations and historic town homes.
