The 34th Annual NSU Folk Festival continues July 20, 2013 at Northwestern’s Prather Coliseum. The theme this year is “Celebrating Louisiana’s Horse and Cattle Culture”. Come enjoy an event full of music, food, fun and heritage.
A variety of local and regional acts will be performing on three stages including Brandon Moreau and Friends, Blake Brothers Bluegrass Band, Jambalaya Cajun Band with D.L. Menard, Sarah Jayde Williams and the Sharecroppers Band, Maggie Warwick and the Louisiana Hayride, Knight Train, Caddo Creek Band, Hardrick Rivers and the Rivers Revue Band, and Trini Triggs.

Fiddlers from around the state of Louisiana will be performing and competing in the Louisiana State Fiddle Championship. Those entering the Championship Division are competing for cash prizes and the title of Grand Champion. The winner will be recognized as the state’s best fiddler and awarded Grand Champion. At 5:45 pm on Saturday July 20, 2013, the winner will perform on the Festival’s main stage in Prather Coliseum.
