The Natchitoches Area Convention & Visitors Bureau will provide services to media and travel writers upon request such as itinerary assistance, ground transportation, accommodation assistance, guide services, and photography.

Itinerary assistance
Complimentary specialized itineraries including lodging accommodations, meals, attractions and interviews, can be created to meet the specific needs of writers. Sample Itineraries
Ground Transportation
Bureau staff members can provide complimentary ground transportation to travel writers during the writer’s stay in Natchitoches, Louisiana. Should a rental car be necessary, every attempt will be made to keep the writer’s cost minimal.
Guide Services
Knowledgeable guides can be provided courtesy of the bureau to assist writers in maneuvering around the Natchitoches, Louisiana area. Tours and Guides

The bureau maintains a library of photos, slides and digital images that may be used without charge to accompany pieces featuring the Natchitoches, Louisiana area. Image Library
Travel Writer/Media Representative Qualifications
To receive complimentary assistance, writer/media representative must provide tear sheets of recent work (less than 2 years old) to the bureau upon initial inquiry. (This applies to freelance or assigned writers, reporters)
Requests for assistance must be made at least 2 weeks prior to arrival.
Requests must include the nature of the assignment, subject interest and length of stay. (Occasional special circumstances that deviate from this stipulation may arise that will be taken into consideration by the bureau).
Complimentary accommodations will be provided for commissioned work only. Complimentary accommodations are strictly based on availability. For non-commissioned work, reduced rates or complimentary stays will be left to the discretion of individual lodging property managers.
Costs incurred by family members or traveling companions are not covered by the bureau.
Deviations or cancellations from planned itineraries must be made 24 hours in advance of scheduled arrival. This includes lodging and special interest appointments with local personalities. If 24-hour notice is not given, writer/media representative will be held responsible for payment.
Tear sheets on any resulting stories and subsequent stories related to the visit must be provided to the bureau within one month of publication.
